Volunteering

Fresh as a daisy

Volunteering opportunities are available for those interested in community, environmental and cultural work.

The work varies according to the season (Two seasons in the tropical region: dry and rainy season).

Volunteering periods may vary from 4 to 8 weeks, staying with an indigenous family.

Environmental Work

Fresh as a daisy

Work is being carried out on permaculture, water management and ecological housing. The focus of this work is to diversify the use of these resources without compromising the forest and other resources.

Want to participate in a reforestation program? Or learn about organic beekeeping? Do you want to work with indigenous children and teach them about environmental issues?

These are some of the options available for the period of May-November 2007.

Construction

Do you have any experience on alternative construction techniques, such as the use of adobe, or bamboo constructions? Are you interested in documenting the construction of the traditional rancho, which is an ancestral technique?

Graduation Projects

For students in their final year of career. Kus Kura S.C. provides the facilities for students to work in the community of Boruca or at Kan Tan project, according to their projects and needs.

Guidance, assistance and resources are offered to the student to carry out their project. Environmental work: water management and organic agriculture. Social science work, studies on anthropology, sociology or psychology.

It is important to understand that the main purpose of these projects are to provide a solution to a problem in the community or territory or give alternatives to the actual practices that are carried out.
