Kus Kura S.C. is an Indigenous NGO in Costa Rica working on the promotion of Sustainable Development of the Indigenous Peoples in the Region.
Sustainable Development within the Indigenous Peoples has to go hand-by-hand with the strengthening of the cultural and spiritual values of each community, which has been an area of hard work done by our organization.
Our work aims different age groups within the communities, working actively with children, youth and adults.
Work with our target groups varies according to the needs of these groups. Capacity building, training workshops and active participation in project execution, such as income generating projects or cultural projects, aiming to have a positive impact on the community.
One of Kus Kura's long term projects is Kan Tan Educational Finca. This is a property within the indigenous territory of Boruca-Terraba in the southern region of Costa Rica. It serves as an model finca on sustainable practices such as traditional indigenous housing, alternative energy sources, water sanitation and reforestation programs.
It serves as one of the main refugees for endangered species in the territory and it is one of the main water providers for the community of Boruca, commitment which has been carried out for over 30 years.
Kan Tan Educational Finca has facilities for carrying out retreats, workshops and other actitvities in which privacy and nature are a priority.
